"A picture paints 1,000 words, but a story paints 10,000 pictures." Melanin, a Bronx, NY native, who believes in the power of storytelling through music, utilizes his own thought provoking tale of resilience to inspire those who choose to embark on the musical journey. The inception of his music is birthed from overcoming adversity such as losing a parent, religion, and even homelessness. Having a firm understanding that words have power, Melanin carefully weaves each word with the intention of eradicating self doubt, enlightening the mind, and empowering his audience with lessons of self love. By turning trauma into testimony, wounds into wisdom, and pain into purpose, he has been able to both embody and exemplify what it truly means to live an unapologetic, authentic life. Leading with a true appreciation for lyricism and creativity, make no mistake that his stage presence is in fact raw, entertaining, and will leave you thinking about what was said days after a show.
